Lourene is an Occupational Therapist, with over 30 year's experience working in mental health. She has worked in the public, NGO and private sectors.
Having worked across all lifespan cycles, and with people from all walks of life, Lourene has a great understanding of the every day life issues people face.
Lourene's strenghts are in helping people, assisting them in understanding their own mental health and supporting them in making changes to improve their quality of life.
She primarily works with adults, using a Strength based model, Solution Focused Counseling and various therapies based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
The approach used, depends on the needs of her clients.
Lourene is registered and accredited with AHPRA, Occupational Therapy Australia , Medicare and Mental Health First Aid Australia.
Lourene is committed to Deniliquin and it's community, and participates actively in committees, clubs and community initiatives.
On a personal note, she has been married for 30 years and has 2 adult children. Originally from South Africa, Australia has now been their home for 20 years. She loves her golf and tennis and enjoys travelling .
We are located in Deniliquin, on the beautiful Edward River in the Riverina, NSW.

Face to face appointments and online platforms are used , depending on the client's preference.

Due to Covid-19 all services are currently delivered either by phone or using a platform of your choice.
We understand this might be unfamiliar territory and not everyone is comfortable with this. That is a normal feeling to have. We will work with you to establish the best platform of delivery for you.
All face-to-face MHFA training has been suspended for the time being . A number of courses are planned for the near future when restrictions are lifted.
Minding Minds is community focussed with Lourene involved in a number of committees and community initiatives.
These are not limited to issues that affect our mental health, but issues that affect the general wellbeing of the community.
Connectedness and Kindness are important themes , as is educating and informing the community.
